The March issue of Vogue Italia is a triumph! Starting right off the bat with a stunning cover shot by Steven Meisel of Rianne von Rompaey. This cover is a perfect example of why I have pledged my eternal undying love to Vogue Italia as my favourite Vogue publication and Meisel as my favourite cover artist. They are my most beloved marriage (after Bey & Jay of course) and I hope the separation they were going through is over, because this is what my heart desires – ethereal beauty!

And that’s just the beginning my loves, because inside, oh inside! The cover story is a unique selection of ingénue portraits, just what Meisel does best! Photographers featured in this issue are among the most talented of our time and each of their editorials seem to celebrate their own unique style and remind us just why we love them. I’m going to specifically show you a few stories, but there are also spreads by Craig McDean, Mario Sorrenti, Michel Comte, Miles Aldridge, and Sarah Moon, as well as a third by Paolo Roversi and a second by Ellen von Unwerth & Sølve Sundsbø. Truly we are blessed! Now go buy the issue because there is no sweeter feeling than stroking the glossy pages of a truly magnificent fashion magazine!

Les Douze Coups De Minuit by Luigi & Iango for Lui, December 2015/January 2016

Been away for nearly a month, but now it’s time to get back to it my loves, with NUDITY! So much beautiful nudity! As I lustily state every month: the Lui is my very favourite publication; it’s elegant raunch, it’s sumptuous filth, it’s my WHOLE HEART. The main spread for the December/January issue, shot by masters of dirty glam Luigi & Iango features the following models whose names I will now shout: NATASHA POLY! AMBER VALLETTA! LARA STONE! MALGOSIA BELA! ANJA RUBIK! MARIACARLA BOSCONO! TONI GARRN! DARIA STROKOUS! JOURDAN DUNN! CAROLYN MURPHY! ISABELI FONTANA! and EDITA VILKEVICIUTE! Such a perfect mix of all the best Lui Ladies. I’m so happy, you guys!

Also, thanks for sticking around those of you who keep checking in! Look at the gifts I provide to loyal filth monsters!

Numéro, April 2015

Numéro & I have only ever had a casual relationship. Usually I find its shoots a bit messy and full of too much effort that doesn’t quite pay off. April’s issue, however, is a full-on triumph! Its cover star Mariacarla Boscono stars in a Gaultier feature by Peter Lindbergh (the only issue I have with this shoot is that it doesn’t really display the Gaultier as well as it displays Boscono & Lindbergh’s moody style). Eniko Mihalik pairs with Greg Kadel in a delightfully filthy exhibitionist shoot. Three more stories feature models who I’m not familiar with, but who have definitely caught my eye now: Ophélie Guillermand in a stunning bold portrait session with Warren Du Preez & Nick Thornton Jones, Giedre Kiaulenaite in a colourful shoot by Miles Aldridge that plays beautifully with perspective, and Chiharu Okunugi shot by Hans Feurer in Feurer’s iconic summertime, sun-drenched style. Gorgeous! All of it!

Mariacarla Boscono and Perfume Genius by Inez and Vinoodh for W, March 2015

March 5th, 2015|Categories: Fashion Editorials, Fashion Models, Music|Tags: , , , , |

We’re so into Perfume Genius right now. He’s like the love child of David Bowie and Annie Lennox. His videos are the perfect visual accompaniment to his sometimes melancholic, sometimes playful lyrics and music. I’m currently obsessed with his performance on Letterman of his single “Queen”.

Perfume Genius is touring soon with Belle and Sebastian, which is an awesome pairing! I’m a little bummed he’s not touring solo because tickets would be more affordable, but I’m a good person and mostly excited for him.

Of course he’s also an outstanding model, and he keeps up with the iconic Mariacarla Boscono in this gorgeous Officer and a Gentleman shoot by Inez and Vinoodh for the March issue of W Magazine.

Lara Stone, Mariacarla Boscono, Freja Beha, Dahpne Groeneveld & Crystal Renn by Mert & Marcus for Vogue Paris, October 2010

This stunning, stark black and white Mert & Marcus editorial, beautifully titled ‘Bal Masqué’ and starring five of my favourite models celebrated Vogue Paris’ 90th anniversary. A wonderful costume party accompanied the launch of the issue, and the cover has gone down as one of the most beautiful of recent years. It’s one of my favourite covers of all time, such a delightful celebrations of Lara Stone’s bosom space. I especially enjoy revisiting this editorial around Halloween, when masks and capes are all I want to look at.
