Saoirse Ronan is going to capture each of our hearts this Award Season in Brooklyn. Then she’s going to lovingly tend to it, make us better people for having known her, and set us free, because that’s how Saoirse loves. Alongside what I’m positive will be a beautiful performance, Saoirse is slaying in various editorials: piercing our souls with her icy blue gaze in a Dusan Reljin shoot for Glamour, being a playful doll in a Tim Walker editorial for the November issue of W, saying, “I KNOW ALL YOUR SECRETS” in a spookily honest portrait shoot by Alasdair McLellan for The Gentlewoman, and looking casual and elegant in photos by Rich Gilligan for Cara Magazine.

Jessica Chastain by Steven Klein for W Magazine, November 2015

The more I look at this shoot, the less I like it. At first I was like, “YEAH!” then I was like, “Uhhhh?” and now I’m like, “WHAT EVEN ARE THOSE EYEBROWS?” I do like the techno future neon hologram fashion hacker vibe, and Chastain lends a set of razor sharp weapons disguised as cheekbones to every shot and her bosom space is just magnificent barely covered in lace and feathers, but something just doesn’t click. This happens sometimes with Klein stories. Is it because it’s a portrait shoot? Would the look lend itself better to a location? Is it because Chastain does the elegant lady look better, and maybe a different model would be more convincing? I don’t think so. I like Chastain challenging herself to be a chameleon, even if my favourite shot in a film ever will forever be Jessica looking like a retro ethereal earth mother while a butterfly lands on her fingertip (WHICH WAS NOT SCRIPTED) in Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life. Also, no big whoop, but that happened to me once. So, I guess what I’m saying is, I am Jessica Chastain. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go do weird things with my brows that will make Kevyn Aucoin rise from his grave!

The New Royals by Inez & Vinoodh for W Magazine, October 2015

The October issue of W features an outstanding portrait editorial of some of the most compelling stars of television, fashion, film, society, independent film, modelling, horror, and music. Six covers stars grace us with their gaze: Allison Williams, Julianne Moore, Adam Driver, Claire Danes, Greta Gerwig, and Jourdan Dunn. Inside ten more icons and ingénues join the cover stars, and the editorial becomes a thing of wonder. It reminds me of the old Vanity Fair Hollywood Issues – simple, stunning portraits of a perfect mix of stars. This issue is a keeper, go buy yourself a copy. I recommend the Julianne cover, for she is ALL THINGS.

Natalie Westling by Inez and Vinoodh for W, September 2015

I love this kooky macabre Goth by the Sea shoot for the September issue of W by Inez & Vinoodh. Natalie Westling is the perfect model for this theme – she embraces her unique beauty, looking like a modern day Anne of Green Gables, dreaming up strange magical worlds.

This immense, intense, technicolor editorial in the September W magazine is like an ever lasting disco fever dream.  It’s what your imagination creates when you think of what it is that the beautiful people of the world do.  It’s models new and established, actresses, musicians, It Girls, boy toys and the gorgeous people who orbit them.  It’s like moments caught in a strobe light, brief flashes of sex, abandonment, beauty, lasciviousness, and the universal search for the best party ever.
