Natalie Portman is bewitching in this romantic story by Ellen von Unwerth for the September issue of Marie Claire UK. Portman & Unwerth are a delightful pair – they first worked together nearly 20 years ago in 1996 when Portman was first appearing in films like Leon and Beautiful Girls. It’s one of my very favourite Ellen von Unwerth spreads, so playful and indictive of the Portman’s budding talent, and Unwerth’s ability to capture that spark. Go take a peek here.
This candy-coated vintage looking shoot of Natalie Portman by Norman Jean Roy makes my heart a’flutter! We’ve been Natalie Portman fans since the days of Leon and Beautiful Girls, so seeing her look evolve, but her playful spirit remain over the past 20 years has been delightful. She’s so emotive and stunning, and Norman Jean Roy’s style has become positively iconic, resembling fashion photos from the 40s, without looking contrived or copied. Gorgeous. Go treat yourself to a copy of this beautiful issue!
And hey, why not do a little Black Swan throwback & look at these lovely photos of Mila Kunis by Boo George for the July 11th issue of Telegraph Magazine. Those eyes!
Such a perfectly elegant beauty editorial of Natalie Portman for the February/March issue of Elle France. While not an especially diverse shoot in terms of poses or style, each shot is still breathtaking because Natalie is such a beauty. Gorgeous.
American photographer Annie Leibovitz has been a prolific artist since the 1970s, where she first came into public consciousness with her iconic photography for Rolling Stone magazine. Her use of bold colours and unposed subjects have made her one of our generation’s best portrait photographers – best exampled by her most famous photo, that of John Lennon and Yoko Ono taken just days before his death. She has photographed everyone from the Queen of England to victims of domestic abuse to Hillary Clinton to countless actors, artists, musicians and political figures. These are a selection of some of my favorites of her photographs.
