This shoot has everything! SILVER CAPE! CHERRY DRESS! PINK FUR COLLAR! LANA SMILING! It’s perfect!
We’re so into Perfume Genius right now. He’s like the love child of David Bowie and Annie Lennox. His videos are the perfect visual accompaniment to his sometimes melancholic, sometimes playful lyrics and music. I’m currently obsessed with his performance on Letterman of his single “Queen”.
Perfume Genius is touring soon with Belle and Sebastian, which is an awesome pairing! I’m a little bummed he’s not touring solo because tickets would be more affordable, but I’m a good person and mostly excited for him.
Of course he’s also an outstanding model, and he keeps up with the iconic Mariacarla Boscono in this gorgeous Officer and a Gentleman shoot by Inez and Vinoodh for the March issue of W Magazine.
Björk’s heartbreaking new album Vulnicura is accompanied by stark, sensual images. The album art is shot by frequent collaborators with Björk Inez + Vinoodh. The photos feature Björk in latex and a three dimensional mask by milliner and jewellery designer Maiko Takedo. The bodice of the latex body suit opens to reveal Björk’s mending heart, the shape and depth also feel very sexual and macabre – love and sex and death all mingled together.
Also shot by Inez + Vinoodh, the Spring 2015 issue of T Style Magazine features Björk dressed by Rihanna’s stylist Mel Ottenberg. She haunts about in a spooky red Comme des Garçons cape and hood that looks like witchy magic, and is an impish invitation in a latex top and gloves by Syren.
Andrew Thomas Huang shot Björk for The New York Times in another stunning mask. I know little about this shot, except that we suspect it might be a promo image for her first video.
Alasdair McLellan shot Björk for the current issue of The Gentlewoman. I love every shot, but wish there were more of the odd, eye-catching shots. Björk makes such great expressions though that even the black and white portraits are a vision.
Vulnicura is currently available for download on iTunes and will be released on cd and vinyl in March.

Rihanna delivers two very strong, unique editorials this month with a stunning underwater editorial for Bazaar US by Norman Jean Roy and a fantastic throwback shoot for the i-D by Paolo Roversi that desperately makes me want to watch Poetic Justice.

FKA Twigs is having a busy month. She’s V Magazine’s cover girl, photographed by the iconic Inez and Vinoodh while draped in Rodarte jewelry. She also performed during the Brit Awards Nominations Launch, with tribal marks on her face and gorgeous abstract gold pieces on her neck and wrists. The video for her song Pendulum dropped this week also. Directed by Twigs herself and styled by Karen Clarkson (who styles all of Twigs’ performances and photo shoots) it features shibaru rope bondage with Twigs wrapped in her own hair. These unique and original style moments are reminiscent of early Bjork.
